Background information
In Lower Bavaria, between the Hallertau, the world's largest contiguous hop-growing region, and the Altmühltal Nature Park, lies the wellness & pleasure hotel Der Eisvogel, which takes its name from the bird that lives in the Donau floodplains. Over the decades, what was once a simple inn dating back to 1949 has been transformed into a modern four-star superior hotel. The hotel, two kilometers from Neustadt an der Donau, has a total of 58 rooms, a restaurant with products partly from its own production, a bistro and bar, a wellness area with bathhouse including swimming pool, various saunas, relaxation oases and a fitness room as well as 15 treatment rooms. It also boasts an idyllic garden with a sunbathing lawn covering 10,000 square meters. The natural remedies of sulphur water and moor, which are typical of the area, as well as the hotel's specialty - hops - play an important role in the Eisvogel SPA.
